## Questions and answers

### Who removes old furniture in San Antonio?

Klema Builders removes furniture across San Antonio and surrounding communities, including sofas, mattresses, tables, dressers, patio furniture and single household items. The items listed in the written scope are loaded and hauled off. Ask about appliances separately before including them in your furniture removal request. Paint, chemicals, fuel, asbestos and other hazardous waste are not taken. You get a free on-site look and a fixed price in writing before work starts.

### Can you remove one sofa or mattress?

Yes. Single-item furniture removal is within this service, including a sofa, mattress, table, dresser or piece of patio furniture. The item and access are reviewed during the free on-site look, then the fixed price is put in writing before work begins. Identify the exact item when requesting the quote so the written scope states what will be loaded and hauled off.

### Can I take a mattress or sofa to a city drop-off center myself?

Yes, if you are a City of San Antonio solid waste customer. The city's bulky waste collection centers are for residential customers only, and the city may ask for proof of residence under City Code Section 14-18. Material from commercial haulers is not accepted there, so a hired furniture removal goes through a commercial disposal site instead. ### Do you take old appliances with furniture?

Appliances must be identified before the quote, and acceptance is confirmed item by item. Under federal rule 40 CFR 82.155, the final processor of a refrigerator, freezer, window air conditioner or dehumidifier must recover the refrigerant or verify prior recovery with a signed statement or contract. That documentation can affect whether an appliance can be accepted and where it may go. Source: EPA refrigerant recovery rule (https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-40/chapter-I/subchapter-C/part-82/subpart-F/section-82.155).

### How much does furniture removal cost in San Antonio?

The price of furniture removal in San Antonio depends on the number and type of pieces, access, whether any item needs special handling, and the disposal requirements for the listed items. Klema Builders does not publish a price list for this service: after a free look at the property you get a fixed price in writing before any work starts, and that price is the total you pay.

### What items are not taken?

Paint, chemicals, fuel, asbestos, other hazardous waste and tires are not taken. The junk removal page at /junk-removal explains why and names the rules behind it. Appliances are confirmed item by item before the quote.
